Privacy policy

What this site collects, which services it hands that to, and how to get it back or have it deleted.

Who this covers

This policy covers tryharper.app, the marketing site you are reading now, and the forms on it. It does not cover the Harper application at app.tryharper.app, where what we do with a customer’s data is governed by the agreement with that customer rather than by this page.

Harper is operated from the United States. If you are outside the United States, information you send us is processed there.

What we collect

Three things, collected in three different ways. Only the second and third involve you telling us anything.

Automatically, as you browse
Which pages you visited, the page that referred you, and your browser, device type and country, counted in aggregate as page views and visits.
When you fill in a form
Your name, work email address, company, organization size, industry, job title and phone number, depending on which form it is, plus anything you type into a free-text field. This covers the contact form and the interest forms alike; they all go to the same place.

The services this site uses

This list is derived from the site’s own source code, and it is the whole list. There is no tag manager here loading things that are not named on this page.

Cloudflare Web Analytics
Page analytics, and the only analytics on this site. Cloudflare collects aggregate page views and visits through its beacon. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across other websites.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Checks that a form submission comes from a person rather than a script, on the interest form.
Cloudflare D1
Our own database, and where every form on this site now sends what you submit. This one is us, not a third party.
Cloudflare
Hosts the site. Like any web host it processes the requests your browser makes, including your IP address, in order to serve pages.
Google Search Console
Shows us which searches lead people here. It reports on Google’s own search data and does not run any code in your browser.

What we use it for

To run and improve the site, to understand which pages bring people here, and to reply to you when you ask us to.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked to hear from us. We do not use anything collected here to train models.

This site runs no advertising or conversion pixels. It previously carried a Google Tag Manager container, an advertising conversion pixel and a third-party audience identification script, and its forms submitted to Google Forms and a third-party scheduling service. All of that is gone, and what you submit now goes to our own database.

Cookies

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile sets its own when you submit a form, in order to tell a person from a script. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or delete existing ones, and the site remains usable if you do.

How long we keep it

Cloudflare keeps the aggregate analytics data according to its own retention for Web Analytics. Information you send us through a form is kept for as long as we are in contact with you about it, and afterwards for as long as we need it for our records. If you would like yours deleted, ask and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Email founders@tryharper.app and we will act on the request. We will not treat you differently for making one.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and information submitted through it is transmitted to the services named above over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Children

This is a business site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
